Do they work on 901/911 pattern boxes?

ghost1001 12-19-2011 06:38 AM

yes, they make for 901, 915, 930, g50.

here is a better picture with the ebrake....http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1324309070.jpg

Flieger 12-19-2011 09:57 AM

I don't like the e-brake location being under that tower. Looks awkward for hill starts, and useless in a rally handbrake turn situation. :)

Damn! That's one fine looking car. Nice work.

I have a hargett too and since I have 4-point harness, I am not able to reach handbrake while driving at all.

If you want a rally handbrake, you have to go hydraulic anyway

Flieger 12-19-2011 03:03 PM

I have a 5 point harness and can reach the handbrake fine and use it often enough that I would want to retain the access to it.

Actually I am pretty short but I must have legs longer than my arms. I always wish the steering wheel were closer, the seat lower, and the pedals further forward. The 911 is the car that fits me better than every other car I have driven.

I have the seat prety far forward for better geometry with the steering wheel.

I am sold. Ordering one next month. One thing I like is the shifter rod. I am running a G50 and thinking about moving the engine a little forward so it looks like I might be able to make a short rod.

Thanks for the pics.

A friend had some replicas of real RSR bucket seats made but the guy who made them made them like you would a mold. Chopped strand fiberglass, very heavy. TRE makes some that are much lighter and are like these, I believe. The headrests are just stock I believe. I got them from the same friend.

ghost1001 12-21-2011 08:16 AM

Yea, I kicked around the idea of having a hydraulic ebrake mounted elsewhere, but as it is the project is out of control.....will see how it goes and report.

Merlin, I would suggest calling Mark and let him know what you are thinking he should be able to tell you if shortening that rod will change the shifting geometry in any way.

Cool - thanks

Nice work on the wiring, Is this going to be a track only car or streeted? I don't see any front directionals.

I am thinking about ditching the factory wiring and cleaning it up with a painless wiring kit.

ghost1001 01-24-2012 05:12 PM

street....we have little flush led markers that will be in a small hole on the front bumper....the kit is from here:

Spaghetti Menders

The crew at Dawes wired this up, but I have been thinking about laying out a test board and building up a "kit" for the mext project....I just cant wrap my head around putting it together in the car from scratch....

ghost1001 01-24-2012 05:14 PM

switch panel picture.....turn signal and started button ar mounted to the top plate of the shifter....no picture of that yet.

Nice work. Seeing as I am running a stand alone engine management, I am considering using a prefab wiring kit from Painless Wiring. I have a good 12v electronics background so the harness should be easy to integrate. Just retrofitting the harness to run the factory gauges will be the challenge.

ghost1001 07-11-2014 05:38 PM

yea its been a while.....
