new 930 odd noise question...
so, here's an odd query..
just got my 930...a few weeks ago... when i step on the gas, (revving quite hard) in neutral, i hear an odd metallic click-click sound coming from the engine compartment-this just happens when i rev..if i'm on the gas gently while driving, i don't hear it.. ...any ideas? everything else seems pretty normal... thanks! phil |
They all do that eventually.
The two compressor bypass seals in the intermediate blow off - recirculation manifold on top of the intake manifold under the intercooler are worn out, one is hammered out, and they both need replacing. $10 in parts for both of the soft white plastic seals that also act as bumpers so the clank isn't as loud as the blow off piston slams open at one end of it's cylinder when you let off the gas after a rev and about an hour labor to replace them. |
Phil, this may help if you're not familiar with what Jim has described. Go to the link to see the item description as well as a picture of the boost valve housing.
