1980 930 euro trans,..LSD...fluid

what is the best fluid that you guys recommend for a 1980 930 euro trans with LSD,..

i have read alot of back and forth about synthetic,..

i have alot of royal purple 75/90w left from a trans swap in another car, its synthetic, not sure if this would work...

is the swepco that everyone talks about synthetic?

i am assuming in this also, the pull the fill plug first? just in case of anything bad...never the drain plug first!

Great question on the proper fluid.
Pull the fill plug first to make sure it comes out. Good idea.
As far as Swepco, it is a semi synthetic from what I have read on it. Certain tranny builders should chime in here to give their advice since it carries more weight than the other opinions on the net.
I have been using the Swepco in my 79 turbo 4 speed with LSD and have not noticed any problems in 30k miles so far. Hope I am doing the right thing.

Hey Jim, I have an '83 euro and running the Kendall (non-synthetic, NS 75/90 or something) with some Lucas LSD additive per the recommendation of John Walker, car shifts like butter and like it a lot more than the Swepco I was running for what it's worth

I'm using Kendall LSD 80W90. I think about the only place to find it is thru Jegg's @$5/qt.

I have used Mobil 1 gear lube in every trans I have owned and rebuilt. Never had issues with leaking or grinding. Good stuff, easy to find and does not stain your floor green

I have been using Penzoil 80w90 non synthetic with the GM limited slip additive.
It has been working well for me.

Am I the only one left using SWEPCO? I have 210 in mine (I used to put 201 in my 911sc). It seems to work good but I haven't compared with KENDALL

I used some synthetic 75/90 from wall mart when i was out of town and needed to add some. I was impressed much better shifting than just the swepco. but mine isnt a lsd model.

When in doubt, trust JFairman.

BTW, I may bump into you at Gary Fairbanks on Friday. I'm dropping mine off in the AM sometime. PM me and let me know when you'll be there.
