as a huge fan of RWB, i think that kit is horrible and is a horrible "replica", does not even carry the same lines.

sorry just venting...i would be first inline to purchase, but it would need alot of work to meet RWB standards.

Before I bought my CF parts ( in 2008), I did quite a bit of research. Based on that I decided to go with Getty parts. I bought a set of CF doors. I think the quality was vey nice.

Might consider selling them, since I am moderating my rebuilt...

AIR has had 11"/13" flares for a long time, "Super Turbo" or some such name attached to them...

@Jim, you can get RWB kit directly from Japan. Only 15k + shipping and labor.

@Jesper, there is great CF parts producer in Sweeden. Competitive pricing and close by to Denmark.

Hello jsved, how do the carbon pannels look (I'm talking about things like weave pattern, air bubbles/pin holes in the clearcoat, depth of clear coat and such) . . . in other words, are they suitable for use without painting? I've sent a question about this to Getty just now, but was wanting to read your opinion . . .

I haven't looked at them for a while, but as I remember, they look awesome, and actually considered using them with a clear coat for uv protection.

You know what, I'll just go down in the basement and take one down from the shelf to have a look at it.
Later

That didn't take long

They look great. Only negative thing is the weave is not absolutely straight. Even though there are nothing but curves on the door, you can see, when you look for it, that the pattern is not smack on.

I think I remember Reaper talking about this as well on the black bird along with a picture of the Pagani on which the weave was not straight either...

As I mentioned previously, I did consider using them with only a clear coat. They are def. suitable for that.

There are no pinholes and the clear seems like a decent layer.

I do not have anything, but heresay for comparison, but based on that, I am very happy with this product.

They look awesome!

Thanks for the info, and I do remember that post from Reaper (I think it was on the tread about the carbon refletor section they were making) . . .

I have a background in Ducati superbikes (even enduranced raced one with my brother - 2001 748R - for three years) and really grew to love carbon fiber! I seem to have a wild hair to put some on the 930, but don't want it to look too "boy racer" . . .don't know if I will act on the desire, but it's something to think about! Too bad I don't live in California - would like to look a the parts before I buy . . .

+1. We've used both and they were both not bad. The mashaw stuff was nearly perfect.

Gt racing is lighter weight stuff. Better for race cars than show cars.

Anyone know what kind of prices he charges as far as labor goes?

I all fairness to Joel and GT Racing, GT Racing produces panels for race cars
with thin light glass intended to cut weight. It is not intended for street cars.

I have used GT Racing bumpers on a couple of my street cars but with
the full knowledge that they were thin and I would have to lay more glass
on the back side to make them suitable for a street application.

GT Racing products are not junk, garbage, or s--- they are race car light
weight body panels. That is not what you want for a street car !!!!! Joel
references that many times on his sight.

I would suggest instead of trashing a company that has served the Porsche
racing community, well, for over 20 years you should gather some facts. If RWB
is what your looking for you need to pony up your 15K and send it to Ricer-land.
