electronic speedo wiring questions

Just got my speedo ('79) back from the repair shop. The odometer quit working, but the speedo worked. Put it back in, now the speedo doesn't work. The wiring pins on the back are + - 31b A. I'm assuming the 2 brown wires with red stripes go to 31b & A? I tried this, and still no go. Any way to test the speedo and sensor?

Red wire +
Three brown wires and Brown w/ red stripe -
Brown w/ red stripe 31b
Black w/ brown stripe A

One of the brown w/ red stripes should have a multi connect on it. This is where the negative is and where the three brown wires connect.
