1600 mile road trip ,TN, AL to meet Rarly8 back to DC

Last weekend I went for a road trip, started on Thursday and ended on Sunday night 1600 mile round trip, It's like I had said on my other threads, I Drive my car, and it loves it,

I first went to Nashville from DC after 120 detour, my fault, and a four hour down pour , The car ran great. The Gaylord Opry Hotel even parked it in front of there lobby for the whole weekend,After my business meeting was done I drove to see Brian (Rarly8) in Huntsville AL, What a great guy and family,

We checked each others cars, His car slant nose was nice , work in progress like he said but still very nice,we took some pic's , and he drove my car, Nice nice guy,

And after a couple of hours visiting, it was time to drive back to DC, 14 hours straight ,
the only thing the car needed was the clamp around the fuel pump to be tightened, it was buzzing very loud, hopefully that take care of it. The weather is great now Time for you all to Drive your 911's. Enjoy

Helio

Cool trip and pics...I thought you also went to Barber for DE event? Also, what is that white stuff on the driveway at Brian's? Looks like hail pellets! Nahh...it's flower petals isn't it?

That's what happens after you get all the weight off the car, you start in on yourself!

Great visit with Helio, very very impressed with both him and his car. Absolutely no stone was left unturned in the making of this GT2 clone. I'm betting it's actually better than the original.

nice road trip in a bad ass car. It's been almost 2 years since I've done a road trip in mine. I went from Boca to VIR via turbopalooza, then over to Asheville NC then back to Boca.

These cars love to pound the pavement, I wouldn't be afraid to drive to Cali in mine

That is exactly what I bought the gray slant for. I want a daily driver I can road trip in. Life is waaaay too short to drive a boring car! Helio has taken that mindset to another level.

Yep...did the exact same thing in my red beast (with ultra short gearing, race seats and race suspensions) except drove from MO. Imagine cruising around 3800 rpm for 14 hrs straight one way! Tiring but loved it. I admit it could use better gearing for highway.

Thank you guys for the kind words, I really do try to the enjoy the ride as much as possible , thank to guys for the knowledge and support on our old cars, I have learned alot on this forum and I am always learning everyday,

like on this trip I got a major down pour for hours, and the brakes didn't work well at all (no Brake for a few seconds) I had to ride the brake a little to keep the brakes dry ,

Why? ok I had removed the twin 993 oil coolers from under the head lights and moved to a single center oil cooler, the air vents that was cooling the oil cooler , is now cooling the brakes, so to much air and water is not good for braking, I have to make a cover and block those vents, from the in side of the bumper, that should solve the problem , and remove the cover for track days.
