DME or Lambda Control
I'm confused by this thread in the for sale section. The unit that is pictures looks like the DME unit to me but this ad concludes that the unit is a Lambda control unit. have the folks that advised this guy steered him wrong?
FS: 1984-1989 Turbo (NIB) DME Jetronic ECU Brain I'm asking because I've got the same unit and I'm going to list it for sale but want to make sure I'm listing it correctly . My part says JETRONIC with the following Bosch part numbers B 280 800 155 0 280 800 064

Simple: DME and Jetronic/Lambda should never be used in the same breath when talking 930's. The DME is for electronic (not CIS) fuel injected cars and it's what controls them. I've never seen a DME up close and personal, but the thing pictured looks like the Jetronic lambda control computer to me.
Try doing a part number search through our host, might be able to clarify that way.

Thanks!....Your post helps to clarify my question. I've seen DME used before in reference to these units, terminology is important but is not always used correctly here. such is the nature and purpose of on-line forums.
A search of the part number from our host does not return any part. An internet search on the numbers provided a Fl. ECU repair service that says the unit if good for 930 1978 - 1989. Is there a difference between the USA model and a European model of the ECU?
