The base is silver in color. I removed everything and sandblasted the base. Then I painted it with black trim paint. I used the rubber boot that is under the leather boot. I cut the rubber boot to my desired length(I used one of the creases on the rubber boot to guide the knife). Reason I used the rubber boot was to keep thing from falling into the space left by the boot being removed.

What is the item in place of the ash tray?

What was the installation time?

Should take(for a beginner like me) about two hours(shifter that is). The hardest part was removing the console, but in truth it should have taken less time. I realized later on that I didn't need to remove the console just needed to move it out of the way. I did not do the coupler. The one on my car was in excellent condition and as per Wevo it was only an option on my part. So I opted to leave it alone. The shifter made a difference...well worth it.
