Is that the oil line going to the cam chain tensioner (hard to tell from the pic)?

Benny771 06-02-2012 08:30 PM

Nope, its electrical...... drivers side, behind the up-pipe, goes into the chain cover. :)

89, 930

Then that would be the thermo time switch - only electrical component on that chain box cover.

Hopefully its the seal...

May be a silly question but is there one on each side? I think it may be # 30 in the picture.

Pelican Parts - Product Information: 930-617-118-00-OEM

There is a temp sensor on the right chainbox cover, but it is not the same kind (though it looks the same in the PET drawing) . . .

You mean on the picture not the car?

It is #30. In the 86 Cat they got call out # for both side but only lists the driver side and if you look at the PP info it says 1 per car.

Mine is fitted Oil Breather Cover

Hopefully a change of O ring will do the trick.

Yeah the PETs are all over the place as there are different models in different locations.

You have to match it to the engine type.

Benny

Since you got an 89 Turbo, it would be 930-617-118-00 (link in Ronnie's.930 post below).

Of course since its a Turbo... Its more expensive $283.75

Thanks for the info guy's. Do these things start to leak at the connector like my oil pressure switch did?

Start with the O ring... If you got a local Porsche dealer, they would have it in days and price would be the same (discounted under the new Classic pricing.
