My 2 cents. Just a quick analysis. Complete repaint w 27K miles is scary with no reasonable explanation. Baggy rear seats, arm rests on door panels sagging, may all be to sitting in the desert in the hot sun etc. Factory exhaust removed. Drooping left fog light why not adjust? or just not noticed ? Original radio replaced, front compartment metal looks faded , rusty and dingy behind the carpets, with many items in disarray/ poorly prepared and protected when repainted or from previous neglect and air compressor and plastic tire bag/gloves also not there. I'm sure a close inspection would reveal more problems with this car that is far from complete, perfect original. to justify this price unless the market has risen a lot, as I did present the following car to many ( experts) before I sold it.

In June of 2011 I sold a 19K mile silver w/ black leather sport seats 1979 930 with excellent all original paint. It only one small rock chip on the right headlight ring, never even buffed out since painted at the factory when built, in other words perfect, never in sun or bad weather and concours show perfect. All CA emissions intact and working, original floor mats removed and replaced so originals were never stepped on as they were removed at or shortly after predelivery. Get the idea it was a really near perfect original from an anal owner. Only other visible defect was front brakes had leaked some brake fluid ( minor discoloration on the clear coat ) and had left marks that would require the clear coat to be replaced on the polished part of the front wheels. It barely got near that amount with only 19K miles. I must sell cars way to cheaply when I decide to sell when I lose interest in keeping the car. I think this is a far lesser car than the one I had.

Agree w Tony. The car is overpriced at 60k. 35k would be more like it given the condition.

The car's been repainted with only 27,000 miles and both front fenders, hood, and bumper do not line up right while the left front side of the bumper is lower. It would never leave the factory anything like that.

Another thing that doesn't look right is this bent crease in the trunk interior sheet metal in between the gas tank and the master cylinder where I circled it in red.

Is a '79 supposed to be like that? I doubt it.. the sheet metal in that area on an '87 is flat and straight.

I think this car has been hit in the front and was pulled back out on a frame rack, bodywork done and repainted. The area around and behind the battery looks funky.

I see nothing special about a '79 and the older they are the more chances of hidden rust and other issues you can't see.
This one looks like a $25,000 car to me.

There is a steel reinforcment screwed to the bottom of the door pocket flip up tops and when they are bent down from someone leaning their elbow on them like these ones are you can usually straighten them back out easily.
Mine were bent downward like that when I got the car and I removed them and carefully bent them back the other way until the steel strip on the bottom kept them perfectly straight.
It worked on mine.

I like the stack of PP receipts shown with the the service records... I've got a stack of Pelican stickers three times that thick and roughly half the asking price in receipts too

FYI The dented area near the fuel fill tube is factory for 79...or is is on my 79 SC.

Helmet,
Correct and I confirm it is factory for '79 930 as well.

Jim,
Agee with miles and paint. It would be good to be described.
Porsche was not real careful and used liberal amounts of adhesive to glue the carpet down and it's not often pretty on the underside. Sometimes this shows up looking like rust or scrapes in photos. The only way to tell is in person.
The strut tower areas look correct w/the black overspray but although the fuse cover is period correct, the box assembly as it transitions to the fender seam should be the same color/plastic. But, again this may be adhevise. Mine isn't like that but it might not be that this one is incorrect or a problem.

Yeah, that weird curve in the trunk sheet metal is new to me. My '87 is flat there.

They never used adhesive or glued the carpet in the trunk though. From the beginning the carpet or perlon sections have been held in with snaps along the top edges and gravity did the rest.

Sorry, I was wrong making it sound like there was adhesive everywhere under the carpet in the trunk. Yes there are snaps left and right and on the firewall but Porsche did use adhesive along the forward upper L&R edges where the fender meets the trunk pan on these particular cars at least.

When really great original ones with similar miles ( if you want one that way) get into the 6 figures then the price might seem reasonable for this car. Personally I want to keep the well taken care of ones that have been well modded for superior drive-ability or ones driven 1000 miles or so each year originals, with expert service and careful usage. I have seen many higher mileage well taken care of 930s that are in better overall condition than some neglected, or unused / stored garage queens, many that could not be driven very far without issues. This car has too many defects, alterations and unanswered issues that until resolved would put it outside of any interest I would have at anywhere near the price it is being offered at. Also air conditioning compressor seems wrong for this early serial # "amazing garage queen ", and probably lots more to pick on when seen in person. Pickey pickey but that is what you get when you advertise a car that way. Mileage could be right but there have been lower miles 930s in the junk ( salvage ) yard and some should have stayed there. Low mileage is not always the best consideration.
