Love the FrankenCIS angle.

Due to the IC being mounted so far back I can now also get my carbon air filter cover back on.

First driving impressions are a possible decrease in spool time but it defiantly feels stronger when on .4 and .5 bar as the revs climb past 4k and onwards.

Also getting the hang of the FrankenCIS more and fuelling seems to be better than before, the more I tweak the better the AFR's get.

Awesome!

kenikh 10-31-2015 10:52 AM

Can you post some screenshots of your fuel map/control pressure configuration?

quattrorunner 10-31-2015 11:07 AM

Really cool

gavinc69 11-01-2015 09:05 AM

I'll see what I can find, it will be screen shots from the TunerStudio used to ttune the MegaSquirt software if that's OK?

I also have MegaLogViewer but haven't used it yet, maybe there is more info in that.

kenikh 11-01-2015 01:17 PM

Tuner Studio screenshots are what I'm looking for. Thanks!

gavinc69 11-01-2015 01:23 PM

OK will do, have to be next weekend though :-( sorry.

kenikh 11-01-2015 01:34 PM

Zero hurry. :)

Kudos, Gavin :)

Just purchased a electronic boost solenoid. It's one that should just plug in and go with the MicroSquirt v3 ECU I have installed.
Dkubus had the harness for the ECU setup to allow an EBC to be installed later.
This should allow me to tinker with the boost  maybe or maybe not a good idea.
I won't go far with it, maybe just try 0.6 or 0.7 bar.

With the EBC on, the next step is to get the timing controlled by the ECU.
Then I can get it on a rolling road and hopefully all setup to run max but safe boost levels.

Wonder what is the possible max safe boost with this type of fuel & timing control plus big IC on a low compression SC engine

Prolly stick to no more than .7 and you should be fine I'd think.

Others may say otherwise.

If you want to push it and don't have knock detection, make some DIY det cans. I so want to make some.

gavinc69 11-03-2015 09:36 AM

The hardness does also have wires to connect up knock sensor, I'll speak to Mike at Bkubus about what I need for that too :)

Cheers

gavinc69 11-03-2015 09:39 AM

I did wonder about the fuel injectors as I believe they only push fit on the SC where as the 930 has screw in types possibly to stop them blowing out due to boost?

Don't fancy my injectors blasting all over the engine bay on full boost :(

kenikh 11-03-2015 09:40 AM

Look at the end of my build thread for a super easy (and cheap) knock solution that is designed to work perfectly with MS. Under $100, soup to nuts. With knock, you can get .8 BAR.

kenikh 11-03-2015 09:42 AM

You can keep the injectors in place pretty easily by fabricating a retainer bar that secures to the intake studs.

gavinc69 11-03-2015 09:55 AM

Ah cool, I'll check that out and look at your suggestion for an injector retainer, great idea, why didn't I think of that, DOH!

Thanks :)

gavinc69 11-08-2015 11:51 AM

How about removing the SC injectors and threading the hole so 930 screw in injectors would fit! Might need to install a liner first to reduce the hole diameter for threading.

gavinc69 11-08-2015 12:23 PM

Found an old thread of DPHANS, shows his 2.7 runners with different injectors even though he was still running CIS!
