				Battery relocation kit.

Has anyone performed this modification on their 930? Pelican sells the Rennline model that places the battery in the smuggler's box. An odyssey 925 battery apprears to fit.

I did that to an SC I had. The kit was nice and it's pretty straight forward to install. I put in a cut off switch also. I could not use it on my 930, AC so I sold the mount, kept the battery and got Rennline's kit to mount the battery in the stock location.

Thanks, my tech just told me the same thing. AC on a 930 prevents any use of the smuggler's box. I may buy a smaller battery and the kit, and put it in the stock location.

It seems to me that you wouldn't want to move any weight towards the rear on any 911, especially on a 930.

It really moves it closer to where the newer Porsches have it. Right in front of the front windshield in the center of the luggage compartment. Much better than having it hang over the left front tire. Weight is evenly distributed and closer to the center mass of the car.

Don't forget that the newer cars hang huge radiators where the battery used to be. Not sure they really moved the battery out of weight consideration or it would be mounted much lower in the vehicle...
