Hi Guys
In my research i have come across some discussion with regards to the Vr sensor being shielded wire back to the Megasquirt. I have seen the power and ground wires twisted going back to the Edis controller. Is this just standard wire, or is it shielded? If I use the shielded wire do I need to ground the shielding? Any thoughts or pics would appreciated.

No need to shield power and ground AFAIK, only the PIP and SAW wires which have tiny signals susceptible to EMI.

Makes sense now.

How are you guys handling the fuel pumps and megasquirt? How is signal handled from megasquirt to existing fuel pump relays?
Where do I make the connection @ existing fuse panel up front?

The MS uses a ground switch to activate the fuel pump. On the SC, the relay is switched on with a +12V signal so backward of what MS supplies. If the 930 is similar, you can either interpose a new relay to switch a +12V source to the existing fuel pump relays or rewire the existing relays to accept a ground signal. I chose to rewire the OEM fuel pump relay to be compatable with the MS signal.

I believe the 930s use a switched ground on the fuel pump relay. Pin 87b on the fuel pump relay. If I run signal from Ms to Pin 87b will this run the pumps?

IIRC I took the Fuel pump wire from MS and connected to the overboost wire at the 14 pin connector. I did not alter the factory wiring at all.

Excellent. I will give that a try. I am currently trying to address all the issues ahead of time. I have ordered my crank pulley from GSF. I am going draw up a wiring harness, for existing items I plan On keeping, and a harness for new items for mega squirt.
That way I can have the pelican parts members review and critique.

Billjam has got great skills and has posted some layouts of how a harness could look like. Maybe you can use that.

Once you have a clear idea of what wires to tie together from MS to factory, then it's a whole 'nuther project planning to route them to where they will terminate.

Once those are figured, the soldering is the fun part IMO and goes quick.

Package arrived on Friday. Injector blocks, fuel rails, cross over fuel line, fuel pressure regulator, and a few AN fittings. Plan on ordering Megasquirt 2 this week.
Also received my AC pulley wheel from Albert last week. I ordered both 36-1 and 60-2 wheels, also ordered the focus vr sensor and the distributor plug.

You have the wrong wheel to use with mega squirt it will be 10 degrees off

jpilcher 05-21-2013 08:07 AM

I have both the 36-1 which is mounted on the pulley, and the 60-2 shown on card board. I was thinking of using 60-2 with my current setup Electromotive HPV1.
