930 3.4 Pressure Relief Valve - What? - Videos Added

Can someone explain why the washers and the small steel ball came out of my oil pressure relief valve? It fell out when removed. I assume this is how it was assembled inside. The washers fit inside the piston and match the spring dia. They will not fit over the spring guide. No clue on the steel ball?

I'm looking for a solution to low oil pressure at full warm up idle. The pressure is just under 1 bar @ 1000 rpm. On cold start pressure is 4+ bar. As it warms up pressure drops. Ok, that's normal but the knocking noise at idle when its fully warmed can't be normal?? Check out these videos. One is after a few minutes of warm-up and the other is after full warm up. Once its warmed up the noise is only heard if oil pressure is 1 bar or less??

Someone put the washers in there to raise oil pressure a little. Don't know about the steel ball... enjoy the mystery.

The ball may act as a plug, when pressure is exceeded, the relief valve opens. Pushing up the ball and releasing the excess pressure. When it's done releasing the pressure, the ball should seat. Acting as a plug until the pressure is exceeded again.

I just looked at the Porsche PET (maybe you already did?) and the exploded diagrams of the relief piston assemblies do not show a steel ball.
