I really don't know what I am doing but I am determined to figure out my car problems. 79/930. I just took the fuel distributor off and also the wur so I can send them out to get rebuilt. I am confident in that they need to be repaired. I did find a few interesting things when I took the the stuff apart. I sure would like to find some good engine diagrams so I can see where a couple for wire plugs go, and also a few places that I think my vacuum lines are not hooked up properly. Any body have some good pics I could look at. I guess that also the air sensor plate just kind of floats if you know what I mean. I was going to remove the injectors but that may be way more than I can handle. Any tricks to remove them would be real helpful. I really need some good advice on this project. I've been fighting the fuel problem since I got the car a few months back. It sat for 12 years with a full tank of fuel and I have done everything up to the distributor. I know it is all gummed up, I just hate to have it and the wur done without doing the injectors.

Regarding vacuum hose routing diagrams - one of the best pictures you can find is on the underside of the engine decklid (if your car is a USA model). Also. the original owner's manual has the same picture/drawing.

There are also excellent ones posted in various threads on this forum if you search using terms like vacuum diagram and vacuum lines, vacuum routing and so forth.

Yes, the air metering arm/plate floats with a very light feeling action (when the pumps are not running).

Removing the injectors is relatively easy - carefully unscrew the lines from the injectors (without f'ing up the fittings), move them aside, and unscrew the injectors. It is best to use a hydraulic line wrench when loosening the injector line fittings.

thanks for the advice. I am having a hard time figuring out the driver side injectors. There isn't much space to work with. What do I have to remove just to get to them?
