Wow, your car is clean... hood looks lightened too.

I've had the log out lost data frustration/anger too... not good for the BP.

Now when making a long post I highlight my words, then copy and paste them into a MS word document, windows notepad, or simply an email to myself to save what I wrote before posting so I can relogin and copy and paste what I wrote back into a new post preview pane.

Maxthon browser, Maxthon Browser - Full-Featured Browser (excellent internet explorer engine with lots of cool and safe add-ons for windose) lets you press alt/Z on the keyboard to retrieve a closed web page even after closing maxthon but that doesn't work if the web server times you out.

Only this for now, but I can make some this weekend. Note, on this pic I had selfmade footpanels, now Rennline (they are a bit overpriced IMHO)

And here post #17 and #32

??Looking for pics of carpeted RS rear seating area??

Nice, It looks like it runs to the heat ducts and the defrost!

I would love to do this on the car that has headers.

It runs only to defrost and middle duct, not to side (small ones) and feet. But I can cut of fresh air and still heat.

proffighter,

Any links on the mfg of the heater?

You car looks great. Have you posted exterior pix as well, or have I just missed them?

How much does you car weigh, with the aluminum cage (and who made it?), aluminum strut tower brace, carpet delete, no AC, etc.

It's not available anymore, bought it on ebay. Sometimes you find one, I was lucky and got a NIB type is Eberspächer B1LC Compact. Heating performance 2500W

Think they're brand in US is Espar...

Search posts and you'll find more pics, from outside too. I will add some to the garage soon, I am a bit lazy at the moment

Car weighted 1040kg fueled a couple of years. Now it will maybe a bit more, got a few more goodies, on the other side headers, Alu pressure plate and flywheel, etc...

Cage is Heigo from Germany. One of the top brands here

Now you think 1040kg? Never! But note, I build up the car from raw chassis, it was blank steel, no undercoat or damping anywhere and I cut off every little thing, that was useless for me, for example the bracket for the bumper tubes, all gone. Holes everywhere and so on

Is that open flame or open heated element ? Isn't that a bit risky near your fuel tank considering vapor?

Sorry, do not understand the first question, so do a search for Eberspacher or Webasto heater (Air top) and you'll find info about how they're built and work

Risky? Not at all. I've talked to several guys of the heater business and they all say, that never ever a system like this caused any fire, they're bulletproofed. Almost every VW camper and truck driver in Europe got a system like mine, some are running hours for hours every day, ask some hardcore camper. Some of them got the heater inside the bus and it's running the whole night, while they are sleeping...

That makes total sense seeing as the smuggler box was origonally designed for a gas heater.

I guess the lack of air cooled cars being made these days has ended the manufacturng of them.

Ok, old threat, but I'd like some more info about these heaters. I like both the Webasto and the Eber. I think Eber has a new model now called AirTronic D2 (the Eber and Webasto looks suspiciously alike) Good thing is they don't weigh much. Under 3 Kg for the new Eber.

How do you connect these to the ventilation system? Is it possible to get heat to the feet as well, not just defrost and front? I have just installed RarlyL8 headers without heat, and is in limbo as to weather I should install his heat boxes or a petrol heater.

Hello, I am impressed by your skills! I noticed your dual brake reservoir set up. I am currently upgrading my system to dual master cylinder and I am considering my options for the brake reservoirs. I like your system which is evocative of the RSR set up:
I recognize the AP Racing reservoirs but would like to know where you sourced the nice dual mounting clamp around the reservoirs, thank you!.
I also guess that you fabricated a custom bracket screwed on the booster: can you share close up shots?
Thank you!

As long as you leave the stock ventilation system, you can have feet heating as well. Check out the layout of the old heater system using webasto gas heater in the smugglers box from factory. Check my second pic too, it's a t-piece wich connect between the fan outlets left and right. In a stock application it will enter before the two "towers" of heat distribution

Here is how Porsche made the system:

PS: Just delete the two inlets from the stock heat exchangers
