Spent the day with my mistress

Charged my batteries today...100 miles is all it takes...hope you all get a chance to do the same. Weather is perfect here in FL right now after a sweltering summer...don't think the oil temp ever made it to 180 degrees

For the benefit of our frozen bretheren, it was a little warm here in Cape Canaveral today. Mid 80s and sunny. Pretty nice day for a run on the 528 towards Orlando.

I spoke with my Daughter who lives in the DFW area. You guys are getting a pretty good swack my friends!

Hang in there, spring is comming!

You're pissing me off....it's a balmy 15F out right now, getting down to the low single digits at night. If I were to go for a spirited run, several things would happen: the oil would never get close to operating temperature, I would have ice sickles hanging from my 'stache despite the world-class cabin heating system, and I would probably hit HP numbers of extreme delight due to the cold dense air and thus would ultimately crash with the tires being stone cold and no traction.

Other than those few issues, yep it's a good excuse to put a charge on your battery (or batteries in your case).
For me, she's in the long winter slumber which allows me to caress her sensitive parts when she's not looking.

74 and clear @ 9:21pm here... got up to around 82 earlier and it was sunny and beautiful all day. Typical South Florida early winter weather and I did get out and play in rush hour traffic earlier.
Traffic really sux around here but it's still nice driving an air cooled Porsche. Just have to keep your eyes trained to drive defensively as if your on a motorcycle all the time.

Hey Mark,
I'm on the other side of the mountains from you...but it hit a high today of only 24F, so alas...my B.F Goodrich kdw's would never get even close to operating temp. It's not supposed to be this cold on my side of the mountains in December!

Just put in some new perforated aluminum floor boards and a "yellow bird" style rear bumper cover. Yeah no more accordion cheap ass looking bellows on the rear.

So at least I was able to do some upgrades, despite the cold.

Mark

Suppose photo's are in order...

And before anybody says anything...yes I'll be doing the dual out exhaust to fill in the drivers side hole in the valance...... later.

And before any one asks, the white you can see behind the cooling slots in the bumper cover, is a high heat shield material that I installed on the inside of that new fiberglass, in order to help it from melting. The product is designed for motorcycle fairings and hot rod tranny tunnels, and by all accounts, looks to be the cats meow! I'll trim out the slots...eventually.

Mark,

Looks killer, inside and out - especially that heat shield stuff!

You West siders aren't immune to the cold air, just a bit moderated due to that huge heat sink called the Pacific Ocean. Get on this side of the Cascades and things are radically different. I was down in Salem Tuesday and Wednesday and it was in the low 20's there too.

Got up to 11 here today, 2 last night. At least the wind stopped blowing. Took the 930 for a spin up to my cabin at 3800 feet (1*F at 10:30 am, and a balmy 5* inside my log cabin). But logs only have an R value of 4; no big surprise since it's off-grid and heated by match and wood at my discretion.
Here's a pict, first snow of the season. Many more feet yet to come.

Well.....ok, maybe not in the 930.

The pic confused me, was about to call BS... I'm only jealous! It's glorious 930 weather down here, except for the rain Friday, my baby is held up on account of a rear bearing replacement that went beyond to stripped brake lines DAPO with cross threaded soft lines... Just got replacements, now need to find time to finish her off!

+1

I got pushed completelty outta my lane the other day on I275 in Tampa by a moron who didn't even bother to look over before changing lanes, but it's all good I treat them as part of the challenge and just boost right on around them like they are going backwards
