best AFR harness path
For those running AFR gauge; which route did you take to get the harness back to the engine? From the O2 sensor; how are you routing forward? I've made a center console mount for the gauge, and it seems easy enough to run the harness down through the tunnel and back towards the engine, but that''s where I get stuck. (1) come over the trans, and around the side of the motor underneath, or (2) come over the trans and through into the engine compartment and around the side. 915 4 speed with 3.3 Thanks in advance!

For my car starting from the bung in the muffler I routed it through the bumper came along the driver side and up the wheel well where i zip tied it to the trunk release cable then came down to the floor board right at the base of the back passenger seat where there is an existing rubber plug that I put a hole in to run the wire then under the carpet and through the console then up by the ashtray.

I added one to my Turbo. There was already a bung in the exhaust. We also went up the drivers side, into a grommet hole and up the trans tunnel to the gauge in the console.

Along the floor under the carpet and seat mounting rail back through the large rubber grommet under carpet below the left rear seat. Then tie wrapped to the nearby AC high pressure hose going through adel clamps that are mounted to the bottom edge of the left side longitudinal as it arches up over the left rear suspension and then up into the engine compartment through the space in the left rear corner along side the firewall bulkhead.
That firewall bulkhead area is large and also stuffed full of foam rubber chunks to reduce the airflow going into the engine compartment through there. Once up into the engine compartment it goes along the top of the left side longitudinal under the fuel accumulator and filter and rear relay panel with a bunch of other wires. This locates the plug for the oxygen sensor on the end of the harness in an easy to get to spot on the left side longitudinal just in front of the left rear motor mount. From there the 3 or 4 foot long oxygen sensor harness goes out the engine compartment between the tin and rubber air seal to the muffler and exhaust pipe area under the rear center reflector and behind the bumper. |

Wow.
My harness didn't have that much length. Mine goes through tunnel, up where starter wires enter engine compartment, to the right side by the oil filler where it plugs into the sensor. Sensor goes behind reflector. |

I should mention I have the innovate extension cable plugged into it. With it the cable is more than long enough so I have the excess cable looped around under the passenger seat. It's all hidden and works good.
Some people make their own extension cable. I went with the innovate extension cable because it's aluminum foil shielded cable that should help the gauge work smooth and consistant and it plugs in easy. |

as most said - LR frame arch / grommet into corner of rear floor / needed extension

Just to add a bit more to the thread: we were doing my headliner, had the glass out, did some touch up paint work. So we used some of the headliner material on a panel cut for the gauge and made a space for the hazard switch as well. I think it came out nice.

The Innovate #3844 comes with the 8' harness. I've read both good and bad reviews about it. The AEM unit can be supplied with an additional length harness. Anyone running the AEM unit? How's it working for you?
