				Hi-Torque Starter Wiring on a 930

			Hi guys!

After a ton of down time I am getting the old girl back on the road after the wiring harness melted. I am installing the IMI starter that our host sells and I ran into a problem. The stock Bosch starter has 3 wire connection points and the new starter only 2. Obviously I know where the battery line attaches, but what do I do with the other two yellow wires? Join them at the same terminal or leave the CSV line off? I searched through 20+ pages looking for a definitive answer and got nothing concrete... Any help would be appreciated. |

i assume one big lug for the battery and one spade teminal for starting.

you need the CSV. you may have to just wire them together. the bad thing is the yellow start wire already has a lot of current on it for starting, this could take current away from the solenoid. i am not sure why a hi torque starter. these are low compression engines. search my name for a thread on rebuilding the bosch starter.

![]() I can't remember what I did but I suggest you check the 2 yellow wires to see which one only gives you juice when the key is turned all the way over to the last/start position on the switch, but isn't hot when the key is in the run & off positions on the switch and use it.

The second wire is for the fuel pump relays goes to that switch on the air meter. I jumpered it to the yellow wire. The reason it probably has a high torque starter is the Bosch re-manufactured ones are crap and have dead spots on them. I personally went through several some of which were replaced under warranty. Switched to a high torque several years ago and not a single problem since then.
