'77 930 X '86 930 tranny

What is the difference between a '86 and a '77 930 tranny? will a '86 tranny fit in a '77 930?

Im sure it can be done..
if you Do do it ill be interested in your 77 tranny if you want to sell it

The '86 tranny is longer. It can be modified to fit, it requires the main shaft and bell housing to be machined. Patrick Motorsports does it here in the USA. You may be able to find someone with that expertise in Brazil too..

The short answer is no, it will not fit. The 75-77 trans is shorter than the 78-88 as bahnzai describes above

It will not fit unless you do the following. All you need is a 76 or 77 mainshaft and bellhousing transplant, or send your 88 930 bellhousing and mainshaft to Patric motorsports to be remachined to 76-77 specs. I had a 88 shortened about 5 years ago to put the it in a 911SC which is the same chassis length as a 76-77 930. Since then I have gotten a spare original 77 930 bellhousing and mainshaft and a limited slip 936 diff with some extra transmission parts that came with a trans that went the other way to be a long bellhousing race trans for a 1985 930.
