WTB: 80's tuner madness 930
Hi all,
My daily driver for about 4 years was a '79 930. The car was black/black and had been fitted with a Kremer ugrade kit when it was a few years old (K27, bigger intercooler, boost controller, lengthened rear wing etc). It was a fun car but I sold it some time ago as the pre '74 911 bug, and the racing bug, had both bitten hard and I needed room in the garage. Lately, I've been thinking about 930's again. My favourite 930's were always the 80's tuner cars (Gemballa, DP, Rinspeed, Strosek, Koenig, Evex etc) and I think that is now the itch that needs to be scratched. So, cutting a long story short, does anyone know of any surviving 80's craziness for sale? Cab or coupe, LHD or RHD. Ps. I know many people dislike the modded cars of this period, I'm just not one of them. PPs. Feel free to post pictures of info of your favourite 930's from this period, and info on any other period tuners.

I probably didn't help! But I have been thinking about it for a while, something quite mental that most Porschey folk will detest...

Oh yeah,
I love'm too! Some were outrageous & memorable, poster child's of the 80's "over-excess" though I believe DP's (my fave' ) are becoming ever more so globally appealing & sought after when you start to look at their price reflection(s). I'm not sure? , but I rarely see, say for example Gemballa's or Strosek's doing the same (am I wrong?). I can't forget some of these incredible "road going" super tuned, over optioned, over worked bodies were roaming around nonchalantly (a word from the 80's? ) & benignly by the super rich of the day! ![]() ![]() I'd totally dare to be the guy driving any one of those exotics from the 80's

Hey, I drive mine at least once a week, except when it's snowing. Those Recaro C electric seats with adjustable everything and heat are very comfortable.
Obrut, you could add the DP graphics to the black one on ebay for the full look. Here's a link to the photo gallery page. The DP935 Registry: Photo Gallery

Wow, parts of that black flebay dp car are just sexxxxxay. The exhaust is totally fubar looking tho, seems silly on a bucktwentyfive car! And the lack of a rear valance has the up-rake from the side profile looking all sortsa silly
NT-01s FTMFW... they sure do look the bizness! I kinda dig some of those uberexcessive tooner cars of the '80s. Totally bonkers. Rad dude! But note I said "tooner"... they all look pretty damn cartoonish, no denying that. Dare ya to rock one as yer daily!? That'd be pretty... well... rad! My gut is those outlandish outliers are non-existent down there Down Under. Hope you find one, report back 8-)... Harold, cars done like yours are anything but excessive or cartoonish... and make me feel all sorta funny down there. Love when you post pics of that... |

![]() Only thing I don't like about that car is the price... And the wheels.... If that car had a set of the 18" D-Zug wheels it would be WOW.... Just saying... Something about that car - it's almost as if it's saying F*@$ YOU to the other cars on the road! Love it. Chris.

I've got an 81 Kremer 930 that we've been working on for a year or so, 18000 miles... it's not finished yet, and honestly I haven't really thought of selling... but for the right price, what's not for sale ;D

Personally speaking - I'd rather buy a 997.1 GT2 for that kind of money. Chris.
