... it seems I only see these on the slant nose and cabs, but not too often on the coupes.

Not sure about the boxed rockers... but the 1989 930 LE (luxury edition??) model had the rear flare vents. Both cab and coupe versions. Yes they were rare.

So, they didn't come on regular coupes or targas unless modified? Thats interesting, thanks.

Maxx1 I have seen them mostly on coupes.
In the Sonderwunsch program or Special Wishes they would do about anything you wanted to pay for.

My 1988 has both boxed rockers and vents...seems original - not sure why someone would add them
![]() Does this imply that its an "S?" How would one know if its an "LE?" Were LE's only from 89 onwards? Bo |

To my knowledge the LE pkg as available to customers in the UK in 1989 consisted of most of the Special Wishes options (engine upgrade, front spoiler/oil cooler, rear vents, interior appointments) but omitted the extended sills (boxed rockers) and the slant fenders/folding headlamps. I recall being offered in 1989 a brand new US model Speedster with factory boxed rockers and rear vents, the options were modest in cost but really set the silver/black car off. The only one I've ever seen. 1989 LE pkg: ![]() ![]() |

Reviving a very old thread, but need to gage opinions...
I'm starting to gather the parts to get my 930 slant back to stock body.. Was going to get a body shop to quote the work to redo the rear quarters, until I came across the photos in this thread... The LE photo above looks nice IMHO.... It could save me a bunch of money at the body shop. Has anyone else gone for this look? |

I'm very much leaning for this approach. My car has the front Ruf nose with oil cooler, which I plan to keep, therefore just swapping the front fenders and the box rockers, keeping the rear vents.

I'd keep the boxed rockers too if I were you.
I remember when you got your car, very nice! |

Thank you very much. It's been a great car, definitely a very good decision.
The good thing is that the rockers are easy to put on and off, so there will opportunities to try out both looks. The vent options are much harder decisions to make. The fenders and rocker covers I found are a different color, so the car may require a paint job. If that is the case, Depending on how much the body work cost will be, I might go back to stock rear quarters. |

Usually the vents are functional adding brake cooling. A good body guy can match the fenders and rockers without much trouble, but I understand your point.
Curious, what makes you want to de-slant the car? |

I have an 87' 930 turbo with factory slant nose delete option. It's pretty rare I'm not sure how many are produced but mine is white.

Does anyone have a pic of a slantnose with the rear vents but without the boxed rockers?
