Clutch spring...

Hey i just got my clutch spring, and was told i would have to take out the pedal box to be able to put it in?? i tried getting on just by depressing the clutch all the way but got alittle frustrated and decided to do it this weekend instead.

Is there a way to just stretch it on? secret tips?

Yes, I did it, you need a auto parts store brake tool to stretch the spring. If you do a search here it should pop up.

Yep many different methods to make this happen. I personally did the trick of expanding the coils by inserting washers in between. I found this trick to be fast and easy - like 10 minutes.

I was actually trying this with some coins with the old spring, will try it with new spring tomorrow. now that i know someone else has had succes with it

Yes, almost forgot that, I also stacked quarters btwn the coils.

It's really easy honestly with the quarters trick. In fact, it took me longer to recover the quarters that decided to nestle themselves under the pedal box...

Also in doing this method, I found it easier to hook the spring to the pedal post first and then pop it on to the post at the rear that is attached to the pedal box. You may give that a try if you have any issues.
