Show and tell

This week while still waiting for all my new engine parts to arrive thought id get to work on experimenting practicing with different looks, finishes, as i plan to Vinyl Wrap the whole car for paint protecion in a flat colour this gives good practice.

I like the Satin finish of the carbon fibre look , as the shine doesnt overpower the natural sheen of the leather, i think it goes well with exterior trim also without being too ostentatious ?

here you go ,

total cost to wrap what you see in pics about $6
Good when you cant afford the real thing
slap away

Just kidding Rob - I like it! My background is in Ducati Superbikes, so as you can imagine, I have a real soft spot for carbon fiber (and carbon-look vinyl if it looks real and is used sparingly).

Hey Ronnie, Porsche never used carbon on the 930 so how can YOU like that?
My vote, if your going to the trouble of covering it, cover it properly with leather.
Now if your covering the outside finish that's another thing. Those look ok to me. But I don't like small parts covered in carbon fake look anything. Too auto-zone for me.
If you fabricated a carbon fiber door top from scratch I'd give respect though.
The $6 you spent look like $5. Sorry.

This is how -

I guess what I meant is that I like carbon fiber stuff in general - would I put any kind of carbon-wrap, real or otherwise, on my car? Nope.

Are you going to do the center console plastic panels the fog light, AC, and speaker fader controls are in? That might look OK.

Good idea !

I might keep going with this

Note : when i do the exterior its going to be in a flat gloss colour, probably Orange because

its cheaper than paintng it
its quicker
if you stuff up just peel it off and no harm done
you dont have to wait for cf to dry
For the eccentric you could wrap it a different colour every day and people will think you own lots of 930's (my favourite)

Your just jealous Quattro, dont you know that if you do your car in carbon fibre it goes faster? especially if you get the Red wrap!

I'd just keep it a cab, that's cheeper too. And matches the nature of the theme as well.
