Wheel offset question

Ok , I think I have the wheel offsets straight, but would appreciate verification before ordering wheels...

My 930 currently has bbs 8x16 et11 up front... Which is way wrong. The wheels stick out on both side. I believe stock et is 23. Previous owner put these on, don't know what they came from.

Plan is to get 7x17, et23. If I have this correct , the outside rim will be pulled inward 1 inch. Inner rim is the same distance from the wheel well. Tire is one inch narrower.

The rear bbs looks fine as is with the current 10x16, et23. Problem is,the imitation Fuchs only come in a 9x17...et only available in 15. Will the rear tire now stick out 7mm further? Is that right? But if the tire goes from a 10 inch to a 9, then it negates it... Right?

Any help appreciated. Anyone know what the original bbs wheels may have been for?

Its an 1988 930.

I do not believe the wheels are not original, as in a prior thread folks suggested that the front offset of et 11 is wrong.

I have been searching this site, and many folks mention that one wheel seems to stick out further than the other, and apparantly thats not unusual. The right front sticks out 1/2 an inch too far, and rubs. left is fine. Tried rolling the fender, still rubs.

I thought about using the elephant racing offset ball joint to bring the passenger front wheel in a 1/4 inch, as that would likely solve the problem. But I am not sure if that would just cause rubbing on the inside of the whel well. (Might also make it tough to get the right camber setting.)

It seems that going from an 8inch to a 7inch wheel would fix this, as that brings the outer rim in an additional inch. Which, I believe, is the stock measurement.

I did check and there aren't any additional spacers/etc. I actually wanted to goto 17 inch wheels anyway, so this works out fine.

Does that make sense? Any help appreciated.

I hate any wheel on a 930, unless it's original Fuchs for the year.

If one wheel sticks out 1/2" further than the other one, something is wrong. I'd measure from the inner body to the inside of the fender lip on both sides, then check both wheels and make sure the inner offset is the same. Check the wheel spacers if you have them. Are both front hubs 930? Some folks run 9x17's w/255 fronts with no issues.
