Is it just me or are the most common 930 model years '78, '79, '86, '87 and '88? It seems like many 930's I see are of those model years. Do these particular model years have greater production numbers or something?

80-85 were euro only. the ones in the US were imported by the owners for those years.

![]() Actually 78 930 was the least produced US delivered of the early cars followed by 76 77 then 79. and 89 still more than the 78. 86-88 were way more.

Someone posted the 930 production #s awhile back. Can't recall though if it was here or on the 911 tech forum.

Right, as this was due to the big change in the VIN numbering system that began in 1981 . . . the later turbos have the 930 designation near the "center" of the number sequence (although it reads "93X").

Does anyone know how the 930 production numbers compare to the other 911 production at the time? I've had a hard time finding them.

From all the numbers posted here, it looks like '87 was a huge production year for 930's (and even 911's). Note to self: Buy another '87 while they remain dirt cheap until the supply dries up and escalates the price.

I had heard the ratio of 930's to 911 back in the day was almost 20 to 1, so any real 930 is kinda rare to begin with, would have to think. The price difference alone when new was staggering.

Get out your calculator. The production was just posted about a few posts before yours. Give or take a few % accurate, depending on the publishers resources.
