Help With 1986 930 Engine Number

Hi All,

Could you please help a fellow out? There is a 1986 930 I am interested in buying. The owner purchased it 20 years ago with mileage in the low 20's and has no reason to believe the engine and trans are not original and matching. However, he never obtained a COA/PPS and I have no way of confirming matching numbers.

The last five of the VIN are 50671.

I am hoping some of you 1986 owners with matching numbers cars can chime in with VINs and engine numbers, so I can try to "bracket" this car and see if it is likely the numbers match.

If you also have trans numbers, that would be great.

My understanding is it is no longer possible to obtain a COA, and that you have to prove current ownership and go through the PPS inspection program to get the factory data.

If you have any other suggestions on how to obtain this info on short notice, please let me know.

Thank you very much!

Thanks, but not what I am looking for. I don't doubt it is the correct "type" of engine and trans for the model. I am trying to determine if the engine and trans numbers are in the correct "range" compared to the VIN in order to ensure it is a matching number, original to the car, engine and trans.
