Let's hear from those who can lap sub-seven minutes in a 911/930 turbo...

Given a high HP 911(such as the TAG-Powered 911/930 which was shown here), which of you could drive a sub-seven minute Nurburgring time and vanquish a 918?

In a 1000-HP 78-89 930, I don't believe even Walter Rohl would be able to keep up(for very long) before finding the guard railing and maybe the morgue...

Let's hear the claim to fame!...Who hear has the "goods"?

Wasn't t done several times in the 70s?

Here it is:

List of Nordschleife lap times (racing) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

1974 time: 7:56.5 Carera RSR 2.1 Turbo Herbert Muller
1979 7:31.7 935 K3 Klaus Ludwig
1979 7:37.3 935 K3 Klaus Ludwig

Not sure if track was the same - many changes over the years. I m no Klaus Ludwig, but it would be fun to try...

I have done 7:47 in a 924....with 360hp and some other mods, does that count?

Tilikum, first get a life and second, get an attitude that does not look so helpless....

Raceboy, that's awesome time, congrats.
I swapped 944S2 to LT1 , about 400hp, many moons ago, but that thing had no traction. It was relatively slow spinning tires everywhere.
I thing OP was asking about SUB 7 times. Don't thing that was done ever in old 911 chassis.

That is about as likely as having Anna Paquin and Emilia Clarke appear, nude, in my home with eager-for-service looks on their faces!!!

Yeah, I saw his sub-7 minute time and I think it is possible on 911bodied car given that 956 with Stafan Bellof behind the wheel drove 6.11 already in 1983 and when today's knowledge of engine management, suspension etc is applied to some 935.

But my 924 is a bit more modifed than average car I think..
Here's some pics of the dark side of P-car ownership:

Ridiculous, not possible with a 930, no matter how much hp and what driver. Even if rules for street cars are not that strict like for race cars (weight limits, racing, etc...)

For example: 996 GT2 Turbo with race technology but still street legal 7:15

Stefan Bellof (not official because not in a race but the first and only with over 200km/h in the middle): 6:11 with a Porsche 956C factory car.

Fastest 930 Turbos where about 7:40 in the late 80's, newer Porsches like Gemballa in 2001 lapped in 7:32

Serious driving, that's a 7:55 without the truck.
