When in doubt: Precision Clearancing Device, or PCD for short. Or hammer for those not skilled in the art of clearancing

Good job! a hammer and a pry bar come in handy at times.

I can't tell from your picture if you put the two gaskets back in but you'll gain some more clearance without them if you ever need it and as long as the thick muffler mounting flange is still flat which it probably is it won't leak with a little high temp red silicone smeared on the mounting surface.
Our cars are the same color, venetian blue. What color is your interior?

The gaskets are still being used. I can't get the bracket off without removing the turbo, so the gasket between them stays for now and since I had clearance with the new gasket on the muffler side, I left it on. When I change headers, turbo, etc. this fall, the high temp silicone will likely be used.

My interior is light grey (don't know the official Porsche name for it). My Venetian is L36P, so I don't think our colors are identical, just very close.

You're right, my paint code is L35U. Mine's a year older and I've heard they made a different venetian blue later on. You've confirmed that.

So I got it installed, including the wastegate pipe and buttoned it all up.

Here is a sound clip: VID 20140626 193728 - YouTube

Here is the wastegate installed. Boy is it a great sound when that thing opens up!
