Maybe fake, but Fetzen and Bauer are German words.
Letzen = Last Bauer = Build ROW everyone knows that one; Rest Of World

Last = Letzter Bauer = Farmer Build = Bau, here it is BAUEN which means building as verb and finally Fetzen can be shred or a more slang word for to argue Use this for better results next time: Englisch - Deutsch Wörterbuch - leo.org: Startseite BTW if the one who made this where german speaking (due the German words) he would not write ROW but RDW for Rest der Welt...

The first letter is a L
anyway Can it be removed it was under paint, is it best to fill it up or is there a way to smooth out the steel? Or is there a way to get under the trunk and hammer it upwards to make it smooth, Any panel beaters here??

Robby,
Is this thing next to the ID tag in the front bonnet? The fact that the letters are not on the same plane, doesn't bother me too much. On the limited runs of Sonderwunsch vehicles, the part ID's on some pieces were not perfect either. It's the shoddy workmanship around the plate that bothers me.....and the translation provided by Roland (THANKS!) brings it even more into question. Was this vehicle ever a track car?

ive straightened it out a bit and cleaned it up, im going to leave it polished and unpainted and coat it with fish oil, the letters look straighter now with the flattening i did on it, its come up quite pretty. I like it it adds character and its not like its saying something that the car isnt, because the car is in fact build #644 out of total 694 row and Japan (us not included) , Japan got approx the last 50 cars so 694 - 50 = 644/2 but as many know they were not in specific order, So the car is indeed the last or if not pretty close to the last ROW built for 1977, im ocntinuing research. As far as Track car id say it was at some stage, ive just been going over some engineer reports for the car including late model heavy duty suspension strengthened floorpan late model brakes that sort of thing, Rob
