Need the delayed fuel relay
Hi 930 Geeks
I need the delayed fuel relay in the back of engine bay. I think is a 4 prong. Per our Host and Porsche it's not available. This is the relay everyone jumps, but I would like to get one to make original. P\N. 930-617-117-01-OEM Relay, Brand: Genuine Porsche *** NO STOCK *** Does anybody know where to get this part? Thx |

They superseded it to part# 930-617-117-02
You might find one with a google search or call a dealer like sunset porsche in oregon. Maybe pelican can get it with this part number. Also try porsche salvage yards like weekend rides. google them for their number. |

try re-soldering the solder joints, that is if you are geek enough to know how to solder.
also if there is a relay in there, clean the contacts with fine sandpaper.

I seem to recall getting one from a private seller on that evil auction site. Always give our host first shot at finding one for you, though. When all else fails, someone out there in the world will have one sitting around collecting dust.

Nope, both part numbers no more from Host or Porsche, and I do not have one to fix.

I recently ran into a similar problem when my speed relay went kaput. It's now NLA, too. Fortunately it was salvagable with some soldering, so I didn't have to look too hard for a replacement.

"Have search engine but no brain to engage"
Sorry if I seemed harsh. I can relate to the title of your post, I feel the same way at times. I know it's purpose but I removed that relay years ago because the stumbling run on it created drove me nuts. I still have it and should probably sell it. |

A Funny coincidence, my Relay was always unplugged with the wires unplugged and the rear two plugs bridged, yesterday I popped the top off and had a look at the solders there was one point where the solder had a gap so I put heat on it and melted it to the next solder making a bead, I plugged it in (for the first time in 2 years, of ownership it worked.
It never worked before with relay plugged in,, In yours it might be a simple job to do the same, even if you don't know anything about electrics cos I don't either, some things look obviously broken. might be worth a shot ?

^^^ He doesn't presently have a relay, so nothing for him to open up and solder.
