My 1st 930
Hey Guys.
I just scored my 1st 930 this evening. very excited!! .. It is a ROW 1977 930 # 67 imported in 85 to the US. and us body specs to US DOT paperwork. but engine excluded and the dreaded 90's slant noise "KIT" "AIR " Seems to be Ice green metallic underneath as well. Really would like to make right and any help and parts would be most appreciated front end parts rear tail bumperettes reflectors etc... thanks!! rolled home this evening... dont judge yet. lol ![]() Last edited by dporsche74; 04-06-2014 at 05:09 AM.. |

Congrats on the 930! I suggest you keep the Slantnose look, because like my Slantnose, it would catch more people's curiosity, which makes it more special, though every once in a while I have at least one person asking if it's some kind of kit car

Thanks !!!
I haven't popped the wheels off yet. But i think they are 7 x 9 /16 fuchs. But that wouldn't be correct for a 77 i dont think.. .. would it have had the RSR 9 x11 15 fuchs stock ? Since the slanty nose came so much later MY .. I REALLY want them off ASAP and make back to correct for MY77 Does anyone have a totally stock factory pictures or links to early 930 websites for reference and inspiration.... Will it just have the same front bumper and valance fogs etc.. of a normal 911S to replace with from the 76-83 SC??? Last edited by dporsche74; 04-06-2014 at 03:50 PM.. |

Nice find. The early ones are getting harder to locate. Stock wheels would be 7&8x16s. There is a 100+ page thread devoted to the 3,0 liter 930s on ferrarichat and there is a fairly new 930-turbo registry/ that is a good resource.
The front bodywork is pretty similar to 911s of the same vintage. The tail may be a challenge to find. How much of the original drivetrain is intact? Have fun with it! -John |

Thanks for the tips. Will have to learn about this car .
. The engine is original 677xxx no intercooler. 36K miles on the odo and records show about 1000 miles since 2006 . it is quite the beast once the turbo kicks in .. looong lag tho needs tune up . it does have the CIS idle bounce cold .. stalls once and and while once warm Love CIS ... ![]() |

Nice find...either in slant or 'regular' form.
Porsche's in general attract WAY too much attention. I personally wish my car was as invisible as my Corolla.

- snorkel washers can be ordered from Konradsheim website - US bumperettes are fine, but keep a watch on Pelican for Euro bumperettes - correct wheels would be 16x7x8 - turbo rockers can be found on Pelican - the really difficult item is finding a correct whaletail with good rubber lip

Another hard to find part would be the turbocarrera badge.

3.0 Turbo
Great find!
Correct front fenders would be narrow body with flares welded in at the factory. My '76 came with only a driver side mirror, may have been the same for '77, not sure on that one. Finding a correct tail with all the right parts is going to be the hardest thing to find, they pop up from time to time. Good luck! Paul

Awesome find! You can always convert it back.
I'd be interested in the slant fenders etc...
