My 82 Euro COA lists sunroof as an option.

You almost have to figure with the price of these cars being on the high end, a lot of them probably didn't have sunroofs. It would be interesting to see a window sticker and what the price of that option (or any option) was.

since I am doing a complete repaint, thinking of removing the sunroof.

anyone done that? is it hard to get the sunroof welded in and done in a way it looks original?

One could order a COA for all 1200 cars, would be a little expensive- there is a turbo registry on face book maybe some data there. If you had random data on a sample of 50-100 cars you could extrapolate and get a decent guess on entire population.

I can tell you that US model year 1978 930 VIN#9308800443 is a black/black non-sunroof car.
