Question on EFI sensor - anyone recognize it?
I just picked up a 911 with a trick 3.8 twin turbo built by Essa Tech in the early 2000's which is running an Autronic EFI system. It is using some type of distributor signal pickup which I have never seen before. Can anyone give me more info on what type of setup this is (Hall effect, etc.) or who the manufacturer may be? Many thanks in advance.

Rubbing alcohol has water in it. Brake clean in a puff can would be much better.

Check to see if you also have a toothed wheel behind the crank pulley. If so they are using the distrib as a cam signal. Anyway a scotch- brite pad will work to clean things up. Let's see some motor shots!

Pretty sure that would be a single tooth Hall sensor setup that will send a 5 or 12 VDC pulse to the computer when cylinder #1 is on its compression stroke for sequential spark/fuel timing. This was used in lieu of a cam sensor.
