930 intake porting
I picked up a 3.3 intake I need to get ported to 38mm. I also read a couple of old threads about extrude-honed to match the flow. The posts are pretty old, who is still doing this? Is this still the way to go? I was thinking of setting up the intake on my mill to enlarge the opening, but I'm getting there is more to it.
This is for my hodge-podge 3.3/3.0 motor. TK ported the heads, aluminum injector blocks and 3.0 intake (CIS). The current i/c set up has the i/c in the firewall so the 3.0 intake is fine. If I want to try another i/c in the stock position I need the 3.3 intake. I test fit a Andial/Garretson 3.0 i/c (for sale) but it sits too high. |
The 930 manifold is like a flat plenum chamber with 6 holes and a throttle body.
Port match the holes in the manifold to the injector blocks you already have. Doing it by hand with a die grinder is easy. |

Chris at TurboKraft did mine
40mm nice job , pic's do ot do justice http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-930-turbo-super-charging-forum/767012-forced-deal.html |
Doing it again, I'd have Chris do it.

I'm porting mine soon to match the headwork we did. Don't plan to extrude hone as that just isn't necessary, porting should allow adequate flow for the pancake manifold design.

thanks.

The intake manifold is magnesium so real easy to smooth out to shape.
