TK Full Bay

Anyone running a TurboKraft full bay intercooler but a long neck with the stock pancake manifold? I assume you have to relocate the condenser at a minimum. Curious to know more about it.

Come on Shannon, we live in Seattle. Ditch that pathetic a/c in favor of the full bay i/c. Weight loss where it counts and more power. It will also free up space in the engine bay and it'll look bad ass.
Nice score on the seats BTW. Very sweet.

With a full bay intercooler one could remove the rear deck condenser and install new ones in the rear fenders.

Griffiths makes such an upgrade.

Hi! I got a stock intake manifold and a fullbay intercooler from TK and the condenser with fan was relocated on the rear wheel well (driver side - front of the rear wheel). We changed all the condensers(front and back), evaporator, barrier hoses, etc from stock to griffiths and now blows 35-37* at the vent on Vegas summer.

Yes, we configure them for the flat 930/965 intake manifolds, too.

Here's one in black, just installed on a C2T that we un-cluster-f'ed and re-tuned.

If you are still running CIS, we have a billet FWIC solution for that, too, but it is not as deep fore-aft -- still bigger than you could ever need for CIS -- and there is a little more work required for installation (may have to relocated WUR and/or AAR depending on the year).

As for as relocating the rear condenser:
If you want A/C and want to improve it at the same time, do yourself a favor and pick up a 964/993 A/C condenser assembly. Between that and some new A/C lines, you'll be shocked how much better the system works.

If you want independent results on this intercooler's efficiency, ask xbmwguy.

Indeed, and in the engine dyno room with mine, iirc we never saw intake temps higher than 30degsC for the whole week....of course, the IC had a proper fan that was feeding air through a ducted shroud, but by the end of each day, that room had pretty hot ambients.

In fact, intake temps was one of the few things that didn't give us any cause for concern (as opposed to the f***** wiring harness). This genuinely surprised my pal who was mapping, and the dyno operator (of course, Chris and I weren't surprised at all )

That is it! Enough with the teasing!

Chris, I'll be calling you on Monday to order mine. I want a raw aluminum one with no logo that will attach to a 3.2 intake with an Accufab 75mm throttle body with a clamshell clamp. Talk to you next week.

Okay, you got it!
We've got another batch of inlet tanks in process at the machine shop, we'll just spec one without our logo on the front.
When that's done, we will need your throttle body to bolt onto our 930/3.2 mockup engine, ensure a correct fitment on the cold side charge pipe.

Ive had my full bay for over a year mow and can honestly say it is extremely consistent. It runs 5-6* above ambient on the cold side at cruise. On a typical so fla 96* day and a quick 123 pull ,running 18# boost inlet is 135* outlet 106. I will be posting a quick vide soon showing one of the most overlooked attributes

Ughh... You guys are killing me. I'd sure like to replace my ghetto unit with a TK full bay.
One of these days...

Stock 3.2 idle control valve. I get sooooooo many compliments on my intercooler its not funny. After totally humiliating a built old school wrx last week he followed me to my corn fuel station and wanted to know if I was running nitrous. Really?? He was supposedly 500 at all 4. He was blown away by Chris' intercooler. Functional art.
