When did the start the twin tip exhaust pipe?
At what point did the 930 exhaust pipe change to the well known twin pipe tip? It seems all 75-77 stock exhausts are one large pipe. Then I have seen people selling mufflers claiming to be from a 78 that have the single pipe. So was 79 the first year of twin tip?
Once the catalytic converter came is they were obviously all twin tip but the entire muffler was revised to fit with the cat so that later muffler will not fit a early car unless you put the car on too. So many cars have had major exhaust changes (understandably so) that it is very hard to find a all original car to compare to.

It looks like the wastegate pipe was cut off and welded so it would be from 1980-82. After '83 the mufflers no longer had a wastegate pipe, the wastegate had its own muffler that vented to atmosphere.
