EFI complete, why didnt I do this sooner??
Completed my EFI install a couple days ago and have been working on the tune. It's already running better than CIS did on its best day. The install was pretty easy, and started up first try.
Components used: MS3Pro 80lb Siemens Deka injectors Bosch COP from vw 1.8t GSF 36-1 trigger wheel GSF fuel rails, blocks, and adapters GM BCS GM Map sensor (one for map and one for atmospheric) Bosch 3 wire idle control valve from a saab Bosch Knock sensor Bosch Crank position sensor Bosch TPS GM IAT & CLT sensors I'm running wasted spark and semi-sequential injection for now, but it is wired up sequentially so I can add a cam sensor at any time to go full sequential. The only issues I had were the fuel pump relay wiring, which was just me forgetting to put back in the relay in the engine bay, and the idle control valve wiring being backwards, which was just a setting in the computer. Total parts cost was under $3000, but a fair bit of labor. None of it was difficult, but it was time consuming. My partner did most of the wiring. It runs so much better than CIS already, and the tune still needs work. Here's a pull at 10psi. https://youtu.be/eaHVdatPCIU

Wow, she runs very smooth. For a base tune, you're miles ahead of where I was. I spent months tweaking.

Pro just has the granularity to drive big injectors nicely at idle.
Man I need to go Pro. |

The pro is pretty awesome. Super easy to wire and set up. If you want one let me know. I opened a wholesale account with diyautotune and they have a black friday sale going on right now so they're even cheaper. I actually have the ms2 that I was going to use, but I decided I really wanted the ms3pro.

Did the same thing earlier this year. I don't know why people keep spending all this money on CIS.
I though it was going to be more difficult then it was but everything went good and idled just like yours and runs assume. Love smoking my friends vettes too... lol

Do you have more details on what`s needed to be done and a complete parts list. Did you do a log or something? Or did you have somekind of intructions.
I`m just about to do a digital wur with a microsquirt etc but this might just be easier.

I actually do have an excel spreadsheet with all the parts I used. I need to complete it then i'll post it up. It's actually not a difficult job. We did it over a period of about a month working on it periodically. The next one we can probably get done in a couple weeks. Didn't drop the engine or anything.

Still running 2 fuel pumps, but probably could have gone to one since I have a 044 in the front. I have the fuel head but im keeping all the stock parts. For switched power we got a switched power signal from the harness there and then made a relay board with power from the starter. Happy to answer any questions anybody has.

I rather have the III daughter board with an X expansion board so I can retain my wiring. |

I'm hoping it can fire these in a twin plug setup. Looks like I have some reading to do ...

I'm not sure. It only has 8 logic level ignition outputs, but I think since they're just 5v signal you can split the signal since they would be firing at the same time.

Firing that one will require a separate ignition module. The ms3pro supplies logic level ignition outputs, so it can only fire the so called "smart" coils. Basically it can fire coils that have their own separate power supply, and simply need a 5v signal to trigger. LS coils are popular and easy to get, as well as the VW ones that I am using.
