1986 930 Engine is in, but I have a few loose ends and could use an assist.

I bought an 86 930 with the engine taken out by the PO. I've had the motor rebuilt, installed new fuel, pumps, and a long list of other work.

The engine is back in, clutch adjusted, throttle cable adjusted, and the fuel lines I believe are finished. However there is a hose near the fuel filter that I don't see a home for. Also, there are two electrical connectors all by their lonesome. The lamda system is not going to be used, as I went to an msd ignition. Also, the air pump has been removed. I'm thinking perhaps the connectors aren't going to be used?

Does anybody know off hand what these are for?




Also, not sure where this goes to either.It's by the oil fill tube.

Well mines an '84 euro model, so not sure on the hose coming from behind the fuel accumulator (picture #1), or the black electrical connector, but the green connector (picture #2) goes to your "warm up" fuel injector on the back side of the fuel air meter plate housing (the unit with the paper towels covering the opening in your picture) and I think the missing hose to the bottom of the oil mist separator (picture #3) comes off the triangle housing on the top of the block behind the alternator/fan housing, but I might have that backwards, and the top hose goes to the triangle housing???

Hopefully my memory is correct, I'm sure others will chime in with advise/corrections as well.

It's kinda too dark to see the plugs but these two photos show the ones I think you are showing us...In the first picture, the black plug 2/3 of the way up from the bottom of the picture and 2/3 of the way to the left side of the pic. The green one where Mark says...

I'm running a euro 930 fuel head with upgraded injectors and lines too. Maybe I don't need whatever the thing I circled is.

Yeh, my memory sucks.

The hose connection on the oil separator bottom goes down thru the engine surround sheet metal via a hose and then back up to the remote oil tank.

Yes that is the frequency valve as pictured in your copied photo from iceman.

Mine is an '84 euro, thus euro fuel head...and I have no frequency valve.

I also have no yellow over boost relay, no air pump or any Lamda stuff...just clean and simple euro spec., no US stuff at all.

I had Hellen Keller come over to help and she found where the fuel line goes....
Seems I'm missing a connector or maybe the end got cut off.

Grrr....

I've identified the fuel line that the PO cut. It has a concave threaded male connector on one end and a banjo fitting on the other end where it connects to the rear fuel pump. I'm guessing it's NLA as I can't find a part number anywhere.

930 356 081 02 has the banjo but the other end is the same as what I'm trying to connect to. I'm starting to think maybe something else is not right?

Maybe the fuel lines are routed incorrectly?
It should be rear pump to accumulator to filter to CIS.

The line with the flair and Tee in it is the return line connection.

The GREEN connector is the safety switch on the front (car direction) of the air flow meter, fuel pumps ground through this when airflow meter plate is displaced.

The BLUE connector is the CSV

The line off the canister vents overboard.

Well, I made some progress yesterday. A big thank you to Mr. Bob Farmer. He hooked me up with a fuel line and some oil separator hoses that I was missing. Unfortunately, I still need hose 5 in this diagram part# 93010739100
I was able to cobble something toghether for the time being,
but I'd rather it not be a permanent solution.



The fuel pumps are running and no gas leaks, but it wouldn't fire up. My MSD switch power is connected to the CDI box wiring, but I'm not getting +12v with the key on. So, I gave up for the night and it pained me to be defeated. On the flip side my neighbors were probably unknowingly overjoyed.

I found a thread about jumping an ignition delay relay. I'm going to try that and continue tracking down my electrical issue.

Anyhow, thanks all for the help. I'm hoping that I'm close to getting this thing back on the road.
