Video - College students react to 930

Thought you folks might get a kick out of this

This car isn't a real 930, rather a 1985 3.2, but the engine is from a 1987 930. I picked the car up for cheap last year and worked over the summer to get it road worthy. Big plans for the future as I don't feel pinned to keeping it original haha

You might notice in half of the clips Brian's Rarlyl8 Hooligan exhaust is installed, unfortunately the cellphone microphone does the Brian's masterpiece no justice

Love it. Take that Insane Mode.

JacobS911 03-02-2016 08:29 PM

Nice work on getting it road worth! Fun vid.

Post some pics of the car! Pretty beastly for a college student, congrats on all of your hard work paying off!

Thanks! I can't take much credit as my parents put aside money for my tuition, and while I did pay for the car I got a ridiculous price after some miscommunication...
Looks like I'm off to do my master's come spring but I think I'll have enough sponsors to keep directing some cash flow to the car.
If that goes well there's a good chance I'll be sent stateside to work in the land of Pelican Parts!

Had to change to a momo so I could fit my legs properly; I'm 6'6

Loving Brian's exhaust, just got it on before I went back to school so I haven't really had time to enjoy it yet

My girlfriend squeals when the boost hits. :D

Yeah well a Mod 8, very similar. Makes a world of difference.

Rodsrsr 03-03-2016 10:03 AM

Cool vid!

Mick_D 03-03-2016 10:13 AM

Thanks. Is that a 70mm dish or deeper? I see the 70mm dish on Pelican but not the deeper version.

I believe my Mod 8 is 90mm dish, the Mod 7 was 70mm. I ordered it through Pelican

Mick_D 03-03-2016 11:27 AM

OK thanks.

Skillet83 03-03-2016 05:11 PM

Looks like me when driving, smiles!

Mick_D 03-04-2016 11:21 AM

Oh, guess what I can no longer find on Momo's web site? Mod 07 and Mod 08 steering wheels!

krasuskyp 03-04-2016 05:19 PM

Wow, nice find you got there - someone put together a pretty decent combo there, full body unless it's an M491. Looks like it's in great shape.

fun vid - I *truly hope* that having that biitchin of a ride for a college kid is facilitating your tappin sommadat azz!!! 8-)

not to be Debbie Downer - but - 2 things:

1) that's a whole lotta 'car' for an inexperienced driver - learn the car, learn yourself, and be careful - especially easy to get distracted when you've got someone in the car, filming, etc.

and

b) pleasepleasePLEASE buy a new passenger belt - like $75 @ a wrecker - that one won't survive a 25mph parking lot tap!

enjoy the car (and more importantly - the TAIL!!!!!)

MikeD930 03-05-2016 02:45 PM

Farintosh...that's pretty cool that you own a turbo 911 as a college aged person! Not too many folks own a 911 at a young age. I remember when I was college age I could only dream of owning one of these things. That's pretty neat seeing your friends being impressed and enjoying a ride in your turbo 911.

Stick around here and be safe!

FrenchToast 03-05-2016 03:15 PM

Nice car. I like the photos too.

I hope you've got something better than the stock Carrera brakes!

Be careful. It's a quick car.

You should take it to the track, learn how to drive it properly.

I believe they're still on pelican parts: PelicanParts.com - Accessories > Steering Wheels > Momo Steering Wheels

You can also find them on Momo's site, I check to confirm the dish
