Shop cars

I see there are quite a few shops on here willing to help owners with problems they are having with their 930's. Was wondering if they all drive 930's or Porsche's and if so what modifications do they have on their personal cars.

I know that John Walker has a stock big port SC motor in his. That is only because the original motor was leaking and has been in the queue for rebuild for a long time. The rebuild is actually happening now and last we talked, sounds like it is going to be bone stock.

'85 Euro 930S, used for R&D so performance level changes. Right now bone stock with RL8 muffler, "baseline spec".

74 with an NA 3.2. I didn't buy early enough to be able to afford a 930 before they popped in price.

It may come some day down the road. But you have to know the first 30hp upgraded on the car will come through the gearbox.

That was assumed to have already been done - just another example of the shoemaker's dilemma.

Car has only been out of paint and body for less than a month. I don't even have plates on it yet. Gearbox will be next winter. Spring is here. I need to replace the old CIS fuel lines and just drive it.

That is what my car is used for. The Red Rocket had so many things tested, it was tons of fun to see what each change did when compared to the baseline engine. I always brought it back to baseline before testing something else. It is also interesting to note that you can get 300WHP from a bone stock Euro engine by changing out the muffler and tuning the fuel and ignition systems.

I am not a shop but I have run the k27 HF, K27HFS, and a gt35 turbo on multiple headers and two different cams. So far, the gt35 starts sending a signal at about 1850-1900 rpm with 993 HE's and SC intake lobe.
It has been interesting seeing the different characteristics of the three different turbos. The k27's come on harder.
