clutch pedal spring
Hey guys,
Does anyone know if the clutch pedal return spring for the 79 911SC will fit the pedal box assembly for my 79 930? My 930 return spring broke and the new 930 clutch pedal spring is NLA and I need a replacement. I figured the 911SC part and pedal box assembly is the same----am I wrong? thanks, Fred

No definitive answer here, but it is worth trying out. I'd give it a 95% chance of being right.

Fred, just take your broken spring on down to the local spring store a couple blocks down the road and have them make you one! (that's the line I used to use with my bro' when he was living in the land of excess California). Us small town boys suffer in that regard.

I never found that spring to do much. My car came with it missing. Replaced it and made no difference. Tensioned it and loosened it. Made no difference. It's supposed to click the clutch in place...

Hi Fred:
Not the same. The 930 one is a slightly heavier spring, which necessitated a turnbuckle in order to get it on the pedal assembly. I stole these pictures from our host to show the difference. Mine has been broken for years, and I guess I am used to it. It broke exactly as shown in this photo. If yours is also broken in this way. I would find someone with talent to TIG weld it back together for you. They have not been available new for a long time. ![]() |

thanks guys for the info. I ordered an 911SC spring from our host and will see shortly.
the pedal is still returning ok without it though. I just want the extra assist and backup from this one. however it gave me a good scare when it broke on track and jammed underneath the clutch pedal causing me to slip the clutch real badly for a second or 2 when I got back on the gas hard. thought the clutch let go on me or broke the pressure plate until I hit the pedal again and felt the resistance.
