I’m looking to buy my first Air Cooled Porsche, something very nice, slant nose or turbo, low mileage, years 1986 to 1998, original paint preferred. Can anyone help me find one or lead me in the right direction?

3 identical threads were needed for this? And not one of them in the classifieds.

Well, since his interests span thee different turbo types, maybe the fact that he queried three different forums isn't all that obtuse since this forum deals primarily with 930's...
Welcome to the party, Derek. Not everybody on here is an asshat. Last edited by icemann427; 08-28-2016 at 01:59 PM.. |

Is working AC important? Because if it is, I wouldn't recommend a 930 ('89 and earlier). Unless you're willing to spend a couple grand to put in an aftermarket system.
The '97 TT I drove once was phenomenal (with matching price tag). With twin turbos, 4wd, and 400 hp, it made me feel like a superhero. Plus it drives with the creature comforts of a Camry. My '87 930 is a lot more work to get going that fast, in comparison. And it feels a lot more primitive/mechanical. The driving experience is worlds apart.

^^^ I would add if a couple of grand is a lot of money period. Don't buy a Turbo.

Good luck with your 930 search, take your time and find the right one. I can't imagine ever selling ours, there is nothing like the boost.
It took me several weeks before I was comfortable with full boost. These can get away from you easily |
