Garrick Lew, 1950 - 2016
I want to let Pelican folks know of the passing of Garrick Lew, ("garrickl" on both Pelican and Rennlist) who died in March of cancer. He and I met on one of these forums about 14 years ago and became good friends through many emails and phone calls. I also had the pleasure of meeting him in person several times. He was a remarkable and special man, and a huge Porsche fan. Those who were lucky enough to know him are missing him.
He had a 78 930 project, as did I, which is how we became friends. I finished my project and moved on years ago. But he never finished his, which was always something that bugged him (and me!). So at his request prior to his passing, and with the confidence of his family, I have become the custodian of that car, which I am in the process of sorting out for their benefit. I have written extensively about it over on Rennlist. Rather than duplicate that here, I hope that those who are interested will go to that thread to see. Garrick Lew and his 78 930 - Rennlist Discussion Forums Garrick's posts mostly pre-dated the Turbo forum on Pelican; if you want to get a sense of what he was up to, do a general search on his username. His project 930 will be for sale soon, in some format or another. Rob |

Yes, Garrick passed away in March 2016. I took possession of his car a couple months later, and have recently been making some headway on it. But I'm not sure how far to go with it. The next owner may prefer to take it from here and finish it the way he/she prefers.
