Flat 6 Illumination

Just purchased these from Fozzy. I struggled with the decision of black vs silver "reflector". I think these look badazzzz. Thoughts? (Note, light is just hanging there, not installed, but the fitment looks like it will be perfect.

Love it.

I just bought a set myself and will be installing them on my 930 over the winter. Can you post any advice or things I need to watch out for when installing? I'm curious about the degree of difficulty for a so-so DIYer like myself.

Very interesting. More details, please! Are they H-4 bulbs or... How many amps. Are they brighter than an H-5? Hard to install? I think a body colored trim ring and silver reflector would be interesting.

I have not installed yet, just hung one on there to see how it looked. I have both silver and black reflectors, but I like the black look. I'm getting a set of black 17" wheels, some tinting (it gets hot here in the summer) and probably a DP style front valance with an oil cooler eventually.

Based on the documentation that came with it, it looks pretty straightforward. I'm installing an additional fuse buss so I'm waiting on that to do this install.

Where did you pick them up? I'm considering a site, and the only place I've seen them (as a quick Google search turned up, anyway) was on Ebay.

Since with projectors the reflectors don't really reflect, how about body colored reflectors?

Flat6illumination or fozzy here on the board.

Very nicely packaged and put together kit with a lot of good docs, ready to go, no inventing anything

I've had mine for about 8 months now.install was super easy the look is fantastic and the illumination is incredible. Not blue at all. I can finally see what's coming up while at speed. And I have NEVER SEEN a business owner/ developer go to such lengths to make his customers happy. Buy with confidence in both the product and the service you will receive

I don't like the black trim and chrome would not match on our cars either. I would paint the black body color. Otherwise the shape and fit is nice, and better lighting is always a plus.

Hey Ken, I'm pretty sure your slant uses a standard DOT sealed beam, either round or rectangular. There are several good LED Replacements that should be plug and play.

Do your research, because there is a lot of the typical garbage on the market, but check out the JW Speaker products.

That should have read set, but you got the idea.

Thanks for the info. I'll reach out to Fozzy and check out the website as well. I'm definitely interested in pricing out a set.

my 930 conversion project has aftermarket slant fenders and the mazda rectangular headlights.

I am also thinking of doing something different with LEDs. would love to know if you find a good solution.

part of my idea would also be to only have the headlight housing raise just enough for the LEDs to peek out. I have even looked at some non-retractable headlights done on slants too. but still a long way from that.

PS. those units look great.

what color is your car? I also have an 85 911 that is white gold, looks very similar. I put H4s on it years ago to replace the sugar scoops. getting close to restoring to stock, not sure if I will put the sugar scoops back in or not.

Pure opinion here but since they are so modern looking, to my eye they would stand out if they were the only mod. There's a certain kitschy charm to these cars in their original form. If, as you suggest above, you have a theme in mind and are updating several cosmetic elements of the car, they could fit in nicely.
*See speednme Rey's (former, ouch) Ruf 930 for how to tie mods all together.
