Tinkering Pays!!

The WEVO guys are out of the country for a few weeks, so I thought I'd put it to you guys. I had to remove my Shifter & E-Brake to access the throttle bushings and replace. After doing so, I put back together [thought I put shifter back in same spot as I marked with Tape and Pen Markings.
The car shifts into all gears [including reverse]. However, there is a tremendous amount of slop in the shifter, now. Also, all of my bushings and the joint are only about 2-yrs old, as I changed them with the shifter... I've attached a video https://youtu.be/487Ke29yjro of my predicament. Can anyone tell where my problem is right off the bat [with the video]? Thanks, Shannon

Did you check all the bushings between the shifter and the wevo to make sure they didn't become dislodged? That's what it looks like to me.

Yeah, I was thinking if #10 popped out, it would cause slop like that.

If you have access to a borescope or camera on a flexible arm, you can view that bushing via the shifter adjustment coupler plate on the trans tunnel without removing all sorts of console parts

Turns out the culprit was #9. I must not have 'snapped' the shifter into this part before assembling.
Also noticed that my shifter assembly "spacer" may have been creating too much space between these two parts, so I removed the spacer. Had to get a shorter bolt for the rear of the shifter as the original one was binding on the shift rod [due to decreased space from spacer removal]. All-in-all, the shifter now works like a charm! Took 45-minutes ![]() ![]()

Yeah it takes a good amount of force to get the end of the shifter into #9, ball kind pops into the socket. But once it's in it's usually in solidly.
