Open Air filter sulution
I am thinking of building some solution now that i dont want to have the airbox in. When i adjusting the cis.
The Kn RU5163 filter on top of cis seams very small for that HP? Thinking of building a hat in alu with mabye two 2,5" pipes and two filters at the side of the fuelhead Anyone have some pics and ideas on this? In the oem airbox there is a trumpet inside on the cis side what does that do? Someting for the flow i guessing |

That filter is by no means too small - capably of flowing way more air than the K-Jet/CIS fuel system can keep up with (demonstrated on dynos many times over the years here). |

I bought a K&N 3270 filter and a piece of 3/16 Aluminum and made mine own. I used a bulkhead AN fitting to pipe my oil catch can as my car is a swap and didn't have the oem 930 oil air separator. I used a jig saw with a metal bit, drill press, and sand paper, but a regular drill would work too. I was planning to post the pics of me making it but been busy. Hope this helps.

I'm running a K&N directly on top of intake. Not restricting at all - if it was I would be running rich at top end. Actually the opposite - struggling for fuel. Too MUCH air.

No Home Depot items allowed on 930's. Also, the blowby should not be introduced in a way that is going to gum up the air flapper. Finally, you need to filter the make-up air to the vapor separator too.

Not sure if the Home Depot comment was directed towards me but here is another pick of my setup. I used 5052 Aluminum to make the breather top and automotive AN fittings connected to a baffled oil/air separator before piping it back into the intake. No comment on the engine pad needed as I hope to replace that while I have my engine out repairing some oil leaks.
