Royal Purple 15w40 Duralec Oil? Your thoughts...

I went on the Amsoil webpage and they said using a 15w50 synthetic diesel oil wouldn't be a bad idea for modified engines. Royal Purple sells a 15w50 Synthetic Oil called Duralec. It's advertised towards diesel trucks. Would and could a 930 benefit from this stuff?

Amsoil has a 20W50 called Z-Rod that looks good for our engines. It has added zinc.

No comment on the RP, and don't mean to go off topic, but if you've been on Amsoil's site, why not use this:

AMSOIL Premium Protection 20W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil

Been using this for over 100K miles. Never any issues or coking. Amsoil Tech Rep actually recommend this oil over the Z-Rod years ago when Z-Rod first came out, as I was considering switching, but for my driving style, which is/was a lot of hwy miles back and forth to mountains he recommended the above oil. I also usually go 5K oil changes because I drive the car so much on the hwy and I don't really experience the constant heat cycling from shorter trips or in town driving. I'm usually at operating temp for at least an hour when i drive.

In researching oil I have found a few tests on Royal Purple and none backed up their claims. I have not seen any tests on that particular oil.

Tippy. It's the opposite. Diesel has an over abundance of anti-foaming agents. If that oil foamed the injectors wouldn't fire. They are hydraulic fired injectors in all direct injection diesel engines.
The oil has to be stable at thousands of psi to fire the injector. I forget the numbers but the fuel comes out of the nozzle at around 30,000psi. I worked at a Ford, Isuzu, UD Truck shop while going to school. I've forgot almost everything though...

I will add their Syncromesh Oil ruined the syncros in my T-56 6 Speed in less than 1,000 miles. The trans shop showed me what their oil does. It softens the glue on the syncro discs and causes the friction pads to peel off. He sees it all the time.
Who sells an oil that does that? Total BS.

Derrick, the BBS set on the backside are 345-35-15
and the fronts are 225-50-15, the setup is Porsche part number stamped, I've only seen another car with this same setup but the rims were silver.

So are the engines....I am not a technical oil guy by any means, and if you search there are miles of threads on oil discussions. I just find that it works for me, and I am pleased with the results when I get it analyzed....
