Hams 930 has a new home!

Hi guys,

I am the new lucky owner of Hams930 1986 930 turbo. First, let me say thank you to Chris for selling me an absolute dream of a car. He was great to deal with and more than fair in his representation. I bought this car to drive and track; it will not be a garage queen. I live in Pacific Palisades, CA and if any of you ever want to meet up for a drive let me know.

Some of you know the car from Chris's posts and i can tell you it is a beast! Much faster than my 2015 GT3. For your viewing pleasure i tried to post a couple videos of a 10 second run, but it wouldn't let me. So, in the videos, the 930 does 60 to 160 in ten seconds on high boost and pump gas (btw, it has a lot more) and the GT3 does 70 to 133 in the same amount of time.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and thank Chris for a wonderful car! I hope to meet some of you soon.

Todd

Welcome!
That is certainly a beast of a car and a beauty to look at. I enjoyed reading his upgrade thread and all the work he and Turbokraft did.

Congrats on getting an amazing car.

Thanks for all the welcomes and kind comments. I have to say, Chris, the seller, and Chris at Turbo Kraft built one hell of a machine. I've been up in the Malibu canyons several times already and i can happily say it performs just as well around corners as it does in a straight line. I can't wait to take it to the track, though i am a little scared .

This car requires respect and a little caution. It took me a few weeks just to learn how to drive it without the fear of cashing! You definitely cannot mash the gas pedal to the floor (unless you like uncontrolled long burnouts) and the manual brakes require weekly workouts to ensure I'll be able to stop when necessary. The first week i owned it I had one of those "watch this" moments when i took my wife for a ride down the PCH and stepped too hard on the gas. It went sideways quick before i slowly let off the gas and there was no pretending i meant to do that! She hasn't wanted to go for a ride since... oh well, no one to punch me in the arm because i'm driving too fast!

Glad you're enjoying your new beast! Its certainly one of the best looking 930's i've ever seen. Go have some fun at the track and learn the limits a little. I have just over 1/2 of your power and things can happen very fast if not ready. Stay safe!
