Is this correct engine for '76 930?

Hello Gents,

Im looking to purchase a '76 930 coming from Japan. I need to verify though if the car has the correct engine. Here are some details:



It seems the engine number reads: 67J00479



Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I've never seen a 1976 930 engine with a "J" in the engine serial number.

As per quattrorunner for the type and would be a match for the /50 if your serial was 6760479.

67J series is a Turbo engine type 930/66 from an 1988 Turbo model.

1976 Serial had 7 digits

1988 Serial had 6 digits

Yours "67J00479" has 8 digits!!!

Something does not compute, ask for photos of the VIN and engine serial number.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for your input. I guess it's obvious the engine isn't matching to the car's VIN which indicates its supposed to be a '76 930.
